Financial Analytics Lab (Lab Space Area)

Financial Analytics Lab is a specialized facility designed to support data-driven financial analysis, research, and practical learning using advanced analytical tools, financial databases, and software platforms. The initiative was driven by Prof. A. K. Sharma, Professor, Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, in the year 2026. The development and operational setup of the laboratory were managed by the Department of Management Studies (DoMS) in collaboration with the Mahatma Gandhi Central Library, IIT Roorkee. The lab is equipped with eight Bloomberg Terminals, providing access to real-time global financial market data, analytics, economic indicators, and professional research tools widely used across the finance industry. The facility enables students, researchers, and faculty members to gain practical exposure to financial markets, investment analytics, portfolio management, risk assessment, and financial modeling in a simulated professional environment. The Financial Analytics Lab aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practice, fostering analytical thinking, research excellence, and skill development aligned with contemporary financial and business analytics requirements.

Lab was equipped with two perpetual licenses - STATA 19 8 Core Perpetual License. STATA is an advanced statistical and econometric software package widely used for data analysis, econometrics, financial modeling, and academic research. The 8-core version utilizes multi-processor computing to significantly enhance processing speed for large datasets and complex statistical computations with an initiative by Prof. Anamika Kulbhaskar, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, IIT Roorkee in the year 2026.

Econometrics Lab (Lab Space Area)

The Econometrics Lab is a dedicated academic and research facility designed to facilitate quantitative economic analysis, statistical modeling, and empirical research using advanced econometric techniques and specialized analytical software. The initiative was driven by Prof. Rakesh Padhan, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, in the year 2026.

Consumer Behaviour Lab (Lab Space Area)

The Consumer Behaviour Lab is a specialized facility established to facilitate research and experiential learning in consumer psychology, behavioral decision-making, and marketing analytics through experimental methods and advanced analytical tools. The initiative was driven by Prof. Kalpak Kulkarni, Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, in the year 2026. The lab is equipped with software named eye-tracker Tobi Lab Pro Fusion ,capturing gaze data at a speed up to 250 Hz. This screen-based system supports both fixation and saccade-based studies, inside and outside of the lab. Eye tracking is an advanced technology that measures where a person is looking and how their eyes move during interaction with visual stimuli. Using specialized sensors and light-based tracking mechanisms, eye trackers estimate gaze direction with high precision, providing objective and quantifiable insights into visual attention, perception, and cognitive processing. Today, eye tracking technology is widely applied across multiple domains including behavioral research, user experience (UX) analysis, healthcare studies, professional training, gaming environments, and assistive technologies, enabling researchers and practitioners to better understand human behavior, attention patterns, and decision-making processes.

Shunya – The Sustainability Lab is a sustainability and climate-focused research and innovation initiative by Prof. Tarun Sharma, Associate Professor, Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee).

Machine Learning Lab (Lab Space Area)

A Machine Learning Lab is a specialized research and learning facility where students, researchers, and professionals develop, test, and deploy Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) models using advanced computing infrastructure initiative by Prof. Sumit Kumar Yadav and Prof. Manu Kumar Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee).

Data Science Lab (Room No.: 110)

Data Science Lab is an inter-disciplinary endeavor instituted by Dr. Gaurav Dixit of the Department of Management Studies at IIT Roorkee in 2019. The lab development was done with funds received from Fuzzy Logix and IIT Roorkee. The lab is aiding the research and academic work of Dr. Gaurav Dixit and research scholars working in the Information Systems area. Primarily, the research streams of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI&ML) for Social Media & Internet Platforms, AI&ML for E-Commerce, and AI&ML for Finance are being pursued.
